This lens has a central spherical shape and an aspherical one on the periphery in order to naturally adapt to the corneal surface, providing comfort to the wearer.
Menicon Z-alpha lenses were designed and studied to provide stable adaptation and to allow the eyelids to move easily, without causing too much friction, making this lens more comfortable than usual for RPG lenses.
