In the early stages of diabetic retinopathy there may be no symptoms. You may start to experience blurry vision or difficulties with night vision. Sometimes, retinopathy can also lead to sudden vision loss.

It is very important that retinopathy is diagnosed early and symptoms are treated as quickly as possible, therefore, regular eye exams are essential. It is also important to strictly control your diabetes with the supervision of your clinician.
