How to Put in Contact Lenses?

Putting in contact lenses is easier than you think. It may take a while to get used to it, but you will quickly be able to put in contact lenses without thinking and in a quick and simple manner. Follow the steps below to achieve this!

  1. First of all, wash your hands thoroughly with soap. Opt for fragrance-free soaps with antibacterial action. Dry your hands with a towel that does not shed threads.
  2. Always start by inserting the lenses in your right eye. This way, you will never mix or confuse the lenses.
  3. Check if the lenses are inverted. To find out which is the right side, place the lenses on the tip of your finger and direct it to the light. If the edges widen outwards then it is inverted (upside down).
  4. Put the contact lens on the tip of your index finger of one hand. Use the index and middle finger of your other hand to hold your upper eyelid, preventing you from blinking. The most important thing in the process is not to blink!
  5. While holding the lens with your index finger, use the other fingers of this hand to open the lower eyelid.
  6. Carefully, move the contact lens towards the eye and put it on. Looking upwards can be helpful and make this procedure easier. Avoid blinking during this step. Blinking can prevent the contact lens from making proper contact with the eye.
  7. Slowly release the upper eyelid and close the eye. This allows the lens to fit to the eye's surface, even if you put it outside of your pupil.
  8. Repeat the entire process in the other eye.
